Last night was the first full night of sleep we've had. My mother coughed - just coughed, no coughing fit - around 6:30 this morning. Other than that, she was as quiet and peaceful as a mouse all night long. Today she felt much better and was up and moving more. It was a lovely day (88 degrees with a nice breeze) and in the afternoon we took her kitty outside for his daily walk. Then we sat on the patio for a couple of hours, watching the golfers go by. It was very relaxing and just nice to have some genuine down-time. I met Pamela, my friend from California, for lunch. She will be here for 6 months to get her 90 year old mother's place ready to put on the market......so we have a lot in common on that topic. It was good to see her again and to get out for something enjoyable....and without the feeling that I should be home.
Thank you so much to those who have been in touch or kept us in your thoughts during this difficult time. It means more than you know. With it being just the two of us, it can become pretty overwhelming when it all falls to me. The concern and support you've sent our way has been very comforting and I truly appreciate it.
